The Chief Executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Mat Shaw, has become Whittington Health NHS Trust’s Interim Accountable Officer. This role is in addition to his role at GOSH.

The Trust’s current CEO, Helen Brown, will be undertaking an assignment with NHS London on provider collaboratives. This is a decision she has taken for personal reasons.

Mat will be in this temporary role until the end of February 2024. Due to his expanded leadership remit, a temporary role of Deputy Chief Executive has been introduced at GOSH. This is to help ensure that the hospital continues to work to deliver the highest quality, safe care and an excellent patient experience to our young patients and their families. Dr Sanjiv Sharma, GOSH’s Chief Medical Officer, has been appointed to the additional role of Acting Deputy Chief Executive.
